Cookbooks & Narrative

Who said that for traveling one needs to “move” physically from one city to another, or from one country to another? I find books the best and cheapest way of traveling and I hope you agree with me.

There are some books, very well written, that are capable to intrigue your mind, thoughts, and feelings so much that they literally throw you into another space and time, where you are not you anymore, but one of the characters you decide to personify in that specific moment of your day. Isn't it wonderful?

It happened more than once that a book caught me so much, that I couldn't stop thinking of its story even if the book was closed and I was doing something else. :) Unfortunately, I'm not a fast reader and sometimes I don't even have so much time to dedicate to my reading, but I'd like to share with you some of the books I consider worth reading. :) I fancy all the books in which magic, ghosts, vampires, witches, and talking crows, which suffer from digression, are involved, but what I absolutely like the most are children's books. I simply love to see the different techniques used to illustrate the stories and I find them always very inspiring. Two of my favorite writers are Anne Rice (Interview with the Vampire is probably her most known book) and Lemony Snicket, the writer of “A Series of Unfortunate Events”, which I'm sure you know or heard about.

Cookbooks can also be enchanting and relaxing, and sometimes, when I'm too tired to read, I just page through a cookbook to admire its wonderful pictures and get inspired for new recipes.

I hope you'll find some of my suggestions useful and that one of the books/cookbooks I'll list will end up in your hands, too. :)
